Ramsay USA did the writing as I had been wounded in my right hand the day before and could not then write at the time.&#8221; Because of the intense rain on the 4th, the card was removed by Pvt. Buchan and replaced with inscribed parts of a cigar box. </p>

<p>A (4 ¼ x 3 ¼ inches) quarter tintype in full case of Sgt. T. McCabe, on the right, and  Private John Buchan of Company H who aided in taking Fisher off the field.  Both are seated in full uniform and accoutrements are visible, cap box, etc.  Both ware kepi’s.   A lovely and clear image of two soldiers who survived the bloody fighting on July 2nd.  The image is in a full case of leather over wood.   Buchan made Fisher’s temporary grave marker. </p>
